If you decide to transfer a domain from one domain name registrar to another, you will need to pass through a couple of safety procedures. One of them is getting a unique EPP code from the present domain registrar – as long as you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the owner's mailbox and no one else can get it. You have to provide this code to the new registrar company, otherwise they won’t be able to initiate the domain transfer. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may contain digits or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an additional safety measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be reset regularly. Some domain registrars refer to this code as a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Website Hosting

In case you’ve got a website hosting, you have registered a domain through our company and you wish to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP transfer code with less than several mouse clicks. When you log in to your Hepsia Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you have registered with us displayed alphabetically. To the right of each domain name, you’ll see a mini EPP icon for all top-level domain name extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between registrars. Clicking on the icon will send the code to the domain name registrant’s email right away. In the same section you can also see and eventually update the email, if the one there is no longer valid.
